This is a key moment to foster peace and rebuild Syria, says ActionAid

ActionAid stands with the Syrian people who have endured over 14 years of immense suffering and profound loss. This critical juncture presents an opportunity for peace and rebuilding, but it demands a united commitment to safeguarding human rights and adhering to international humanitarian law.

We urge all parties in Syria to take meaningful steps to grant independent humanitarian and human rights actors unrestricted access across the country. This includes ensuring safety, security and protection of civilians. These commitments must be transformed into concrete actions that uphold the rights and dignity of all Syrians, without discrimination.

During this delicate time, we join the calls for calm and stress the importance of avoiding violence. The priority must now be on addressing the needs of those affected, fostering reconciliation, and rebuilding a society based on equality, dignity, and respect for human rights.

ActionAid remains steadfast in its dedication to collaborating with local partners to deliver vital assistance, amplify the voices of those impacted, and support the Syrian people as they navigate the challenging yet hopeful journey toward recovery and lasting peace.
